As long as I can remember, I’ve had the need to draw or paint. When I was young, I found that if I looked at something, I could draw what I was observing. No one taught me this, it just happened. I was better at drawing from life than my imagination, that part, I had to really work at to get what was in my head on paper. That’s what sketchbooks are for, they are places to experiment and try new things.
I love to paint Plein Air. I feel that Mother Nature is the best teacher. I am guerilla painter in a sense that I move into the environment and capture what I see on paper, and leave nothing behind but a painting I take home with me.
When I combine what I learned in my sketchbooks and what I have learned out in the field, I can create things from my imagination…..
